OneTab alternative

A OneTab alternative that does more than collapse tabs.

OneTab turns your open tabs into one long list. Tabulka sorts them by why you kept them (to do, to read, or to keep), saves whole windows as sessions, and backs everything up on your device. Free, with no account.

01

Why people look for a OneTab alternative

  • One list gets long. OneTab is excellent at clearing the tab bar, but everything lands in the same place. After a few months it is hard to tell what you meant to do with each link.
  • Export loses your structure. OneTab exports a plain-text list of URLs and titles. Folder names and structure are not kept, so a backup is not a full copy of your setup.
  • It can't search your open tabs. OneTab searches what you have saved, but not the tabs that are still open.
  • Sync costs extra. Cross-device sync is a paid Backup & Sync subscription, not part of the free extension.

Notes on the table

  • OneTab's right-click menu saves the current page through its own menu, not any link on the page.
  • OneTab imports links that you paste into a text box, not from a file. Its export is plain text, so folders are not kept.
  • OneTab's cross-device sync is a paid, end-to-end encrypted Backup & Sync subscription.

Competitor details were checked on October 7, 2026, against each product's website, Chrome Web Store listing, and documentation.

03

Lists by intent

Todo, Read later, and Save for later are separate lists, so every saved tab has a reason to be there.

Sessions that save themselves

Save a whole window as a named session. When you close a window, Tabulka captures its tabs as a safety net.

Automatic snapshots

Tabulka keeps rolling daily backups on your device that you can view and download.

Full JSON export

Export everything, folders and all, to a JSON file at any time. You can import it back without losing structure.

04

When OneTab is still the better choice

  • You use Firefox, Edge, or Safari. Tabulka runs only on Chrome and Chromium browsers.
  • You want your saved tabs synced across devices and are happy to pay for it. Tabulka has no sync.
  • You want to pin or star individual items to the top of a list. Tabulka does not do this.
05

How to switch from OneTab

  1. Install Tabulka from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. In OneTab, export your list first so you keep a backup.
  3. Restore one group of tabs from OneTab. It opens as normal tabs.
  4. Open Tabulka's tab drawer, select those tabs, and save them to Todo, Read later, or Save for later. Or save the whole window as a session.
  5. Repeat for each group you want to keep.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tabulka a free OneTab alternative?

Yes. Tabulka is completely free, with no paid tiers. Like OneTab, it needs no account. Unlike OneTab, it sorts saved tabs into separate lists for tasks, reading, and reference, and it saves whole windows as sessions.

Can I import my OneTab tabs into Tabulka?

Not directly. Tabulka can't read OneTab's export. Restore each group of tabs from OneTab, then save them into Tabulka from its tab drawer. Keep OneTab's export as a backup until you are done.

Does Tabulka sync between computers like OneTab's paid sync?

No. Tabulka has no sync and no servers. Everything stays in Chrome's local storage on your device. To move your data, export it as a JSON file and import it on the other computer.

Is Tabulka private?

Yes. Tabulka has no accounts, no analytics, and makes no network requests. The only data that leaves your device is a backup file you export yourself.

Try Tabulka. It's free and stays on your device.

No account, no sign-up, no tracking. Install it and start organising tabs.
